Where leaks usually happen
The most vulnerable spots in an apartment are flexible hoses to faucets and the cistern, siphons, threaded joints on old steel pipes and faucet seals. Over time rubber hardens, metal corrodes and the joint starts to weep.
Hidden leaks reveal themselves through ceiling stains, a damp smell and higher readings on the water meter. Diagnosis matters here, not replacing parts at random.
How we trace and fix a leak
We inspect all joints in the affected area, pressure-test the system if necessary and pinpoint the source. Then we replace the worn component: hose, siphon, valve stem, seals or a section of pipe.
After the repair we test the joint under pressure and leave it dry. If the leak is caused by the condition of old pipes, we say so honestly and offer options.
What to do before the plumber arrives
Close the inlet valves on the riser or the valve before the leaking fixture and place a container underneath. Do not force the thread tighter: on old pipes this often strips the thread and makes the leak worse.
If water is already reaching the neighbours, shut off the supply completely and call us. We try to arrive as fast as possible.
